Letter from travelling west

Dear Family and Friends,

California stinks without you, but I'm here to make our days brighter and richer. I miss all of you so much. I traveled Westward to start a new beginning, and to have a brand new start, more importantly i wanted to make money from the gold rush. Here with me in California, I am with The Marshall who found the California River, and also the wagon train. I am traveling with my dearest husband, that I met along the way. I am continuing my journey to travel Westward.

In 1848, the Marshall I found along the way finds the California River, when he found this I was watching him during the expedition. A while back we had just about 15,000 people here, you wouldn't believe it now, there is just about 100,000 people living here, the population grew!! Also here in California there are different groups, races, and personalities here... its so diverse.

I'm moving Westward for more opportunities, and freedom. The world mass migration is happening and i shall be the one to start moving. I witnessed a big Grizzly Bear attack Jed Smith, if you don't know from pictures how big they are picture it in person! I have noticed that the families here live or sell farms, which to me is dangerous and risky. People also going Westward are in danger, 20,000 american people will die going West. This is a good opportunity for me to have better life, more change then staying the same.

The places I have passed have been different, different trails, trees, farms, and all types of animals. I saw families travelling together keeping the children out of risk and safe. In May of 1846 a while back I saw men and children, riding on horses and walking to head for their new home. Every person walking, or travelling wanted warmth and some shelter. Me and Marshall have bonded greatly with being together travelling so far we did not fight as much as we both expected too.

My journey Westward has been a long journey, I mostly miss my family and friends at home. I wanted to travel here by myself, but when i see families together travelling, I wish you all were here to travel West as well. I have seen many different things that I have never seen before, the farm land here is extraordinary. I saw wagon trains and horses, and a grizzly bear. It was great here in California, it gave me a new beginning which is what I was aiming for.

Election Day

Election Day in the USA is a day set for the public to have general elections for officials. State and local government offices are also elected on Election Day.

Delaware
Hawaii
Illinois
Indiana
Michigan
Montana
West Virginia

In 1845, they selected the first Tuesday in November as Election Day. They chose Tuesday because most residents had to travel significant distance to vote and Monday would not be reasonable because people need to begin travelling on Sunday. November 1st is All Saints day as well.

My elected officials are Barack Obama as the president, Joe Biden as vice president, and Elizabeth Warren as our senator, and Nikki T. Tsongas.

3rd district
United States House of Representatives: Nikki Tsongas who is apart of the democratic party, Edward Markey and Elizabeth Warren are the senators who represent me in congress.

In the Massachusetts house of representatives David M. Nangle, and Eileen Donahue represent me in Congress from Massachusetts.
