The war of 1812 was fought for many reasons.
It was between the United Sates and the people of the British Empire.
Most importantly they had a desire to expand into the Northwest Territory, and trade because of Britians ongoing war, they thought it would be the right time.
They also destroyed Britians Indian allies both in Canada and the Southwest.
The Result of the war was that the United states gained respect at home and in Europe. The English influence ended in the Northwest Territory. After this war American citizens showed more pride and respect towards their country. They were much more patriotic, Americans were united people and one nation, fought as one. Nationalism was this result, one of the most important that we have today.

The national anthem was written by a famous auther as we know of Franscis Scott Key after witnessing the bombart at Fort Mchenry.
Later it became known as the American patriotic anthem. Also, it let americans with pride, and being United as one whole.
Verse:
O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
Can you see the light after night?
Having pride at the nights last burst of light,
Our flag, waving while the fight is occuring,
Even the bombs going off, our flag is still there and shining bright!
